I have an extensive academic background. I was in the gifted and talented program from grades 1-8, went to a specialized high school, and am currently finishing my last year at university. I was also enrolled in various tutoring / prep programs during these years. My experience at these programs has provided insight into what is needed (from both the student and the tutor) for effective learning.
Learning a language takes more than textbooks and hours of studying. You must be passionate and genuinely interested in learning the language/culture for your studies to be fruitful. Equally as important is the role of the educator. She must have sufficient expertise on the subject, and be passionate about teaching the information to the student. I can confidently state that I will fulfill this role.
I am Korean-American, and my knowledge of Korean goes past formal learning. I am extremely proud of my culture and heritage, and it warms my heart to know that many people are taking interest in learning Korean and about its culture. I would be more than happy to help you improve your Korean skills, understanding of the language, and expand your existing knowledge of colloquialisms and vocabulary.
