About the lesson
My teaching method is highly personalized to the student's needs in the context of a particular piece. I will allow the student great freedom to choose what pieces they would like to work on, as I feel this agency creates greater engagement with the music. Then, I believe that asking the student to evaluate their own performance first before giving top-down advice, and subsequently helping them to work towards their personal goals, is the best way to guide them to achieve the sound they are looking for.

About Elias
I am a student at Yale University studying applied mathematics and clarinet. I play in the Yale Symphony Orchestra as well as in several student-organized ensembles. I am a multi-instrumentalist, playing saxophones and piano along with the clarinet. In 2019, I performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto with the Santa Cruz County Youth Symphony and was Concertmaster of the California All-Northern Honor Band.
In high school, I was clarinet section leader for 3 years, frequently teaching clarinet both with the whole section and with individual players. I also taught the entire band frequently as a substitute for the director.
