About the lesson
I have developed many methods that are very helpful to develop reading, writing, and number skills. I use combined learning modalities, relying more on the auditory, kinesthetic, or visual components, according to the student's abilities. I have the students listen, speaking, reading, and even manipulating objects in order to develop comprehensive abilities. I always explain not only what has to be learned, but why and how.
The focus of my teaching is metacognitive. Therefore, I explain not only what has to be learned, but why, and how it relates to other learning. Specifically with dyslexic students, I train their short term and working memory, as well as their moment to moment attention, and help them become aware of typical dyslexic mistakes.
I use components of the Orton Gillingham methods. With some students, I use Blast off to Reading.
Since Dyslexia always involves a reversal component, I teach the students to become aware of any reversal of letters or syllables, and to beware of other problems related to their dyslexia.

About Guillermo
Hello, when I was 13, I had great difficulty with numbers and reading. I transferred to a new school, where I met a teacher, Don Fausto, who realized what my problems were. He was my math teacher in Madrid. I am originally from Spain.
Don Fausto observed me trying to solve math problems and quickly figured out that my E's and 3's, ans my F's and 7's were always switched around. He realized that I not only had problems with numbers, but had become afraid of them. He worked with me after school, and I loved math within a few months. In fact, I graduated with a BS in applied math from The Ohio State University.
Years later, I went to graduate school in psychology and became a behavior analyst. Since then, I have spent the last 30 years helping children with all sorts of difficulties.
I would love to help your child. The best way to know what I can do for him would be to set a meeting and for us to get to know each other. I would need him to have his homework available, and observe him solving it. There is no charge for the first meeting, and since it is an evaluation, it may take up to a couple of hours.

Perfect! I’m very excited for my son to be working with Ramon. He was efficient in his initial evaluation. Was able to identify the strengths and weaknesses and became open to a success plan for Emanuel’s progress. Ramon is very responsive and patient. I’m happy my son is excited to learn and connected quickly.
- Guillermo's response : My student is an intelligent child. He is very interested in learning and follows instructions very well. He has minor deficiencies that I believe had not been addressed well. However, as I covered and explained the areas in which he had weaknesses, he understood things very fast. He has what it takes to become an A student. Hopefully, I will guide him to get there before the end of the Summer.

I am a retired Broward County principal. After my retirement I worked for four years with Guillermo on a Home schooling team for a young autistic young adult. Guillermo coordinated the program for many years before I began. He gives very clear concise instructions and made all his lessons applicable to life skills for our student. Our student could occasionally have violent outburst which were immediately shortened with Guillermo’s excellent behavior analyst skills. Guillermo has a warm and friendly personality and extremely positive with encouraging compliments. Children respond well to these teacher traits. He gives children confidence with his praise. I recommend Guillermo without hesitation. If you have any questions please feel free to call me. 954830 7974. Mary Lou Ridge

Leo y escribo perfecto el español . :)I had the pleasure of working with Guillermo Ramon for over 18 years. Guillermo has the ability to make rational decisions under pressure, while always maintaining an unsurpassed level of ethics. No one took on more responsibilities and produced outstanding results of the highest caliber. Trusting, compassionate, and driven are the words that come to mind when trying to express his traits. FromThe first day on the job Guilermo will quickly become a visible asset to your staff, and someone that upholds the mission of your company to the highest level.

co-worker 2001-~2019Guillermo Ramon has the unique ability to find the real sources of what causes a lack of progress in learning and then to unerringly navigate the learner through the skillset that brings the learner to achievement. Time and time again, I have seen Guillermo, my husband, not only make complicated subjects easy to understand, but make the learner more confident in their ability to learn what they desire. If you hire Guillermo as your Spanish tutor, you will have enormous fun as you master Spanish.
