About the lesson

I earned my BA in English Literature from Providence College in 1968. I hold a MEd from Boston University, a Master of Divinity from the Episcopal Divinity School and a Master of Theology from Boston College.

In my tutoring, I try to build on a student's current strengths as a first step to improving their academic performance. My goal is to establish a collaborative and positive learning environment focused on the student's particular needs.

About Thomas

I have been teaching in one form or another for over thirty years. Since 2006 I have been teaching graduate courses online at New York University. During that time I have worked with students from all over the world. Most of these students have gone on to receive Master's Degrees and to find work in the private sector.

I have also tutored junior and senior high school students online for over ten years. Most of this tutoring has been in English and English Literature and has focused on reading and writing skills as well as preparation for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT.
