About the lesson
I believe that students should play an active role in their learning. As a tutor, I collaborate with students and their families to design a learning plan that works best for them. I am very flexible, and will happily make any changes necessary to improve students' learning experiences.
As an instructor, I strive to form meaningful relationships with my students. I work to the best of my ability to ensure that students' academic and personal needs are met. I also seek to affirm the identities, interests, and unique skills of my students.
I can create lessons for students between elementary and high school ages. I specialize in teaching violin and piano, as well as reading and writing skills. When crafting lessons, I establish connections between the content and students' lives. I also draw on multimedia to form lessons.

About Suzanne
As an aspiring teacher, I believe in the importance of delivering educational and impactful lessons. In addition to having a passion for teaching, I also have a love for the arts. I enjoy attending classical music concerts, performing, and studying music history. During the summer of 2020, I worked as a communications intern at Opera Philadelphia. While a student at the University of Pennsylvania, I have played violin in the Penn Symphony Orchestra and Penn Baroque Ensemble. During the spring of 2019, I also played piano for the TedxPenn conference. Currently, I play piano and violin professionally at churches in the Philadelphia area.
My undergraduate experiences have equipped me not only with strong academic skills but also critical interpersonal skills. I have mentored students in West Philadelphia and collaborated with their teachers to provide meaningful instruction. I worked as a camp instructor during this past summer as well, interacting with over 70 students each day. In consultation with my supervisors and colleagues, I modified existing curricula to meet the needs of the students. Flexibility and adaptability are skills which I will continue to draw on as an educator. During my free time, I enjoy cooking and going on nature walks!
