About the lesson

Are you unsure about the validity of your Statistical analysis, or feel skeptical in dealing with numbers and Statistical methods? My hands-on approach enhances your proficiency, and is based upon the following considerations:

Conceptualization and the emphasis on theory:
The rationality of use of Statistical tools, and how formulas for different tools are constructed and applied.

Relevance of the type of data:
Determining the most suitable statistical tools for the analysis of the parametric (quantitative data), semi-parametric (ordinal outcomes), and non-parametric data (binary choice and categorical data), while estimating and interpreting descriptive statistics, and inferential tools in statistics.

Empiricism and emphasis on data mining:
Exploring characteristics of the data, and how to evaluate statistical tables, graphs, and charts.

Supplementing digitalized resources:
I gladly supplement either R, Stata, SPSS, or the Minitab, keeping in view the requirements of the student, so that theory may also be supplemented with practice. Further, in order to make graphs, and writing equations, the digital tablet is used with the Microsoft Whiteboard and screen sharing options, so that student(s) get the feel of a live classroom.

Emphasis on interpreting results:
Interpreting results is perhaps the most sensitive and delicate part of dealing with the applied statistics. In addition, to rationalize findings, I also stair upon how to claim either high or moderate confidence, and discussing potential limitations of the analysis.

Reporting Statistical results:
I stress upon following international traditions while reporting estimates and findings, as part of the thesis or in research projects.

Domains of application:
Statistical methods are widely been used in Business administration, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Media studies, Education, and Medical Sciences. For catering to each of the audience, I need to use subject-specific examples, so that the discussion remains in the context of the application area.

Developed and taught a series of courses in Statistics, Probability, and Applied Regression, for over 19 years, at the Bachelor's and Master's levels.

In addition to my role as faculty, I am the author of Journal articles, worked as thesis supervisor, research coordinator, and research consultant.
