About Alejandra
I’m a native English speaker that learned English at age 5. Spanish was my first language, since I was born in Bogotá Colombia and my family is from there, but now I speak English with an American English accent. I also try to keep my Spanish language alive by speaking it and teaching beginners to the language as well.
I have my TEFL/TESOL certification - teaching English as a foreign language or teaching English to speakers of other languages.

I’m proud to offer my recommendation of Alejandra. To whom I have personally known for the past two years. I have had a great peer relationship (or friendship) with her. She is a very organized, responsible, outgoing, and trustworthy person that cares about others and their future success. She is a dedicated tutor who loves to see her students achieve their language speaking goals. She has individual lesson plans to meet all student levels and interests. I would definitely recommend Alejandra to be your future tutor. You will be very pleased with the lessons that she can provide to you. Wish you future learners great success!
I am a beginner for Spanish learning and I have been taking weekly regular lessons from Alejandra for last 6 months. Alejandra is a constant communicating teacher and more than that makes feel comfortable while learning. She is more sincere and adaptable to teach as per student need. I am continuing and would recommend her as a teacher for starter as well as those who want to be expert as a Spanish speaker.
With Best wishes,
AnantI am a Gringo living in Colombia. I have been using Ale for over 6 months learning Spanish. It is good learning from a native speaker from Colombia for the jargon they use. My first two months was on pronunciation correctly. You can not learn this language in 2 months. It took me 4 months for speaking at Starbucks in Bogota for my coffee or my Popeye's fried chicken order in Cali.
The pronunciation with a live tutor really made it a great experience living in Colombia. I can not say enough good things on my LONG TERM goal on learning spanish. Now I am LIVING SPANISH thanks to Ale.View more recommendations

1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?
I speak 2 languages because of my origins. I grew up learning English at school and Spanish at home.
02
2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
I would say some fictional characters that symbolizes the English language's culture would be the characters from the most popular American show ever, Friends! It is watched even now in different parts of the world. It is also still very relatable to Americans and their language culture.
03
3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?
I love that with Spanish I can say "muchísimo" (very much) it's such a cute way of saying "mucho" which in English means a lot. An example would be "te quiero muchísimo!" I love you very much!
I like to say 'no worries' in English it's my favorite go-to. I feel like it can make people at ease once you say it like for example, "Sorry I'm late" and the other person says "no worries!"04
4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?
Speaking Spanish is very important to me. It allows me to keep my heritage and culture alive within me.
Speaking English has always been extremely important to me as well. Growing up in the US as an immigrant and going to school with only English speakers allowed me to gain the knowledge and skills I needed to succeed.05
5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
I believe the main difficulty in learning English, Spanish or any other language is to think in that language than in your mother tongue. This takes a lot of practice and motivation. It is very hard to do, but if you practice every day even for 30 minutes a day. Doing this can help you get comfortable and make it a habit so that you can start to slowly reprogramming your brain in that new language.
06
6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
Since I was an immigrant and came to the US at the age of 4 it was a bit difficult once I started school I didn't understand the other kids or teachers. I needed to take English lessons at school, which helped. I was able to learn basic English so that I could also start learning in English with my classmates.
07
7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
I think that traveling and having family members who live in my native country has helped me to improve and keep my Spanish speaking skills throughout my life. I always say that saying "if you don't use it you lose it!" And it's so very true with languages!
08
8) What makes you a Superprof in language?
I think that my skills in both English and Spanish makes me a Superprof in language. I can teach both languages. I help others with the difficulties that come from starting from the very beginning. Or keeping their language skills that they have, to continue to improve so they don't forget the new language they have learned.
