About the lesson

I create my own lesson plans which are centered around the general curriculum for each student's grade level or class. Lesson plans are personalized for each student and will focus on what the individual student is struggling with the most. A typical lesson plan will start with an introduction of the lesson topic followed by an in-depth explanation of the concept. I then work on guided practice problems with the student, walking them through the process. Next, the student will be given short questions to answer independently. Once each problem is complete, I will go over the student's answers and work with them to correct any mistakes. To end each session, I will have the student verbally summarize what we just went over and I will explain briefly what we will work on in the next session. I teach grades 6-12 and can cover 6-12 grade English, AP English Language, and AP English Literature.

About Sara

I am currently an Honors college student majoring in pre-med psychology with a goal of going into psychiatry or clinical psychology. I have about two years of professional tutoring experience, and I am currently teaching a handful of students.
I took 14 AP classes in high school, earning college credit and high grades for all of them, most notably a 5 on AP English Lang and a 4 on AP Calculus AB. I genuinely enjoy teaching, and I would love nothing more than to see my students succeed.
