About the lesson

Although Spanish is my native language, I am also fluent in English. My classes are aimed at both children and adults, preferably foreigners who wish to learn the Spanish language. My teaching methodology is based on the Meaningful Learning Theory, created by David Ausubel, where each student is the center of the teaching and learning process. In this sense, the program of each class will be created based on the need and interest of the student. Each class will offer activities to develop the four (4) language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.

A pesar de que el Español es mi idioma nativo, también hablo inglés de forma fluída. Mis clases van dirigidas tanto a niños como adultos, preferiblemente extranjeros que deseen aprender el idioma Español. Mi metodología de enseñanza está basada en la Teoría del Aprendizaje Significativo, creada por David Ausubel, en donde cada estudiante es el centro del proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje. En este sentido, el programa de cada clase será creado en base a la necesidad y el interés del estudiante. Cada clase ofrecerá actividades para desarrollar las cuatro (4) competencias del idioma: la lectura, la escucha, la escritura y el habla.

About Lisa

Hello! My name is Lisa Nicasio. I am from the Dominican Republic. Spanish is my native language, although I also speak English fluently.
One of my greatest passions is teaching others. For more than 7 years, I have been teaching, accompanying and helping children, youth and adults in their learning process. For this reason, I completed my Master's degree in Applied Linguistics to the Teaching of Spanish Language. As a teacher, I am very flexible, so I like to adapt my classes according to the interests and needs of the student. I also consider myself, a very relational and empathic person. I love meeting new people and using my knowledge or skills to help others become better individuals in their language learning journey.

Una de mis grandes pasiones es enseñar a otros. Por más de 7 años, he estado enseñando, acompañando y ayudando a niños, jóvenes y adultos en su proceso de aprendizaje. Es por esta razón que realicé mis estudios de Maestría en Lingüística Aplicada a la Enseñanza de la Lengua Española. Como profesora, soy alguien muy flexible, de modo que me gusta adaptar mis clases según los intereses, gustos y necesidades del estudiante. De igual forma, me considero una persona muy relacional y empática. Me encanta conocer personas nuevas y utilizar mis conocimientos o habilidades para ayudar a otros a ser mejores individuos en su transitar hacia un aprendizaje significativo del idioma.
