About the lesson

My teaching is will be suitable for middle/high school students. I ground my lessons and explanations in real life examples to make the knowledge more engaging and meaningful. I ask the students to be proactive with their education; I will have lesson plans and lectures, but I will ask the students to write short essays on the topics we'll cover for each lesson and bring specific topics they want to discuss in detail. I believe that this way of engagement can allow them to be the agent of their own learning and can empower them.

About Keong Mu

I am a senior at the University of Washington majoring in neuroscience and minoring in chemistry. I am currently in process of applying for medical schools and competing for the Rhodes Scholarship as a UW nominee. I have tutored biology and chemistry over online classes for students in Korea for past two years. They have performed 4+ scores for AP exams and performed much better in their classes.

I am currently involved in two research projects. I investigate the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease in relation to microbial immune response. For other research, I am currently studying the pathophysiology of aneurysm formation. Both projects use extensive amount of molecular biology, a topic that students tend to struggle in.

I have a car so I can meet up at a convenient place for the student. I have lower price for online learning, a much less effective way of interacting to learn or teach. I will ask to notify at least 3 days before cancelling, otherwise I will have to ask for half of the price for the lesson.
