About the lesson

I am an enthusiastic, caring, and patient teacher who uses a variety of teaching methods based on each learner's style. I believe in differentiated education, giving options to students and allowing them input even as standards and benchmarks are made clear. Students gain confidence through fun, varied listening, speaking, reading and writing activities in an atmosphere of nurturing that is not negatively critical. I like knowing student's interests to tailor lessons to these so they feel invested and motivated.

About Laura

I taught world languages to grades K-8: Spanish, Italian, and emphasis on French. For grades 9-12, I taught French levels I-IV, ITV and virtual classes, as well as world literature while also coaching volleyball and basketball, advising Student Council, and fundraising for French Club so students and their parents in our small community could go on trips to France and cultural events with French themes. I lived in Avignon for my sophomore year and traveled extensively by train through all of western Europe. I lived in Lorient, where I was an intern at a music organization while completing my masters program. I cherish opportunities to speak French, help others learn French, and stay fluent even as I enjoy an early retirement to enjoy Florida with my husband in the winter months.

Perfect! I am so grateful to have had a lesson with Laura today. I had so much anxiety before my lesson but Laura took the time to get to know me, what I wanted to learn, and how I learned best. Laura was flexible, professional, and very patient with me. I wish I had found Laura sooner!

I am so impressed with Tasha's base knowledge of French, which she has primarily taught herself just through apps and books! She has an intuitive sense of pronunciation and grammar, grasping explanations quickly and conversing with relative ease. What a pleasure to encounter these kind of enthusiastic students who give ME such energy and joy for teaching!

Madame Radtke is an amazing French teacher. I had the opportunity to travel to France with her and take her class for 4 years. What I love about her is how excited she gets about the French culture, history, music (oh the music!), and life in general. She spent many years in France and learning from her was always enjoyable. It was easily one of my favorite classes... learning a new language and having an amazing teacher. She will work with you one on one, as a group, as five different groups, it didn’t matter. She wanted you to love the class and the language as much as she did. She knows how to connect with students as well, which is extremely important. I would recommend Madame Laura Radtke to anyone looking to learn French, they would be extremely lucky to have her.

I took French classes in high school for 4 years with her. She used so many different resources: memorization, music, reading, writing, etc to help us learn new words and actually understand what we were saying. Class was a blast, and she knows so much! If you have the opportunity, choose to learn from her! You will not regret it!
