Perfect! Ethan is a terrific music teacher. I've studied with him for close to a year and have transformed my understanding of classical music. He's well versed and is brilliant at breaking down complex theories and making them understandable. He's also very good with homework and emails me detailed assignments after the lessons. If you have a chance to study with him, go for it.
- Ethan's response : Wendy is awesome, she is passionate and curious about music and ready to learn!

I highly recommend Ethan as a tutor. I had him the month leading up to a placement test for a college course. We met on Zoom frequently, and he was organized and helpful every single time. I learned the material I needed to learn very quickly, and we even reviewed information I had learned in the past so that I was ready for the test. I now feel confident, and I can't wait to learn more music theory!
I have been learning from and working with Ethan for the past year. I am a Berkeley graduate, and I originally chose to work with Ethan because of his extensive education in music and music theory. His depth of knowledge has proven to be just as insightful as I anticipated. He has all of the expertise you’d expect to find in a Ph.D. from the Eastman School of Music, and thus has a lot to share/teach when it comes to making beats, producing, and mixing genres like pop and hip hop. He is also very knowledgeable when it comes to overall music theory and ear training. I have learned a lot, and I am very happy that I decided to work with him. I can honestly say that learning from Ethan has helped me, and will continue helping me, move forward in my career.
Therefore, I fully recommend Ethan to anyone interested in learning about making beats, producing/mixing, music theory, and ear training.Ethan is a true expert. Lessons with him were so fun and easy. I learned a ton about EDM production and mixing. I don't know what I would do without him. He has so much cool knowledge about music theory and music production. On top of that, he is a profound thinker, positive spirit, and great person to talk to.
It has been an absolute pleasure to know and work with Ethan, this guy here is truly a wealth of knowledge. I can confidently say I owe a great deal of my initial success as an engineer and composer to his guidance and instruction.
Having a resource like Ethan, who can provide expert level council on matters of theory and production equally has surely become an "ace in the hole" for me. Ethan has played an integral role in my developing confidence and competence as an artist/producer, wouldn't be the same without him!
- DaggzEthan is such a great teacher! I've been preparing my DMA entrance exam over 6 months. We've been going through advanced analysis, worked on writing, and with English as my second language, he's been extremely patient and helpful. Whenever I am not understanding something and need to go to the foundations, he is on top of it. I couldn't recommend him more highly.
Ethan has an excellent track record teaching music to undergraduate students at an elite music conservatory. I have known Ethan for 5 years, and witnessed first-hand his impressive ability to connect with, challenge, and inspire his students. Ethan is my first recommendation to anyone interested in taking their music ability to new heights.
Ethan did a great job teaching me about music theory as well as DJ'ing. He's patient and met me where I was at in terms of my knowledge and skill. He has a good way with explaining and giving the student enough space to learn. I would recommend him for music teaching jobs of all kinds.
