About the lesson
I use a research-based Orton-Gillingham-based curriculum that is highly effective with students with reading challenges and dyslexia. Lessons focus on phonemic awareness, letter recognition, decoding, spelling, fluency, comprehension, handwriting, vocabulary, oral and written expression. By the time the lesson is over, students often comment on how quickly the time went.

About Dianne
I completed my undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in education and a master's degree in Reading with an additional certification in elementary education from Baldwin-Wallace University in Ohio. I have been a classroom teacher in 2nd and 3rd grades. Most recently, I have been a dyslexia specialist for elementary and middle school students. I am currently completing a specialized reading program with Rawson Saunders Institute and will earn my Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) certification. My teaching style is warm, student-centered, energetic, and flexible. I have been able to bring a student from reading single sounds to reading multisyllabic words and sentences within 11-months. This student is now reading well above grade level and no longer requires specialized instruction.
