About the lesson

Support, encouragement and structure are the most vital ingredients for the progression of any creative project. That's why my sessions are tailored to your needs every time, balancing practical tips & demonstrations with theoretical discussions.
Whether you wish to focus on drawing, painting or design, or you are experimenting with a range of mediums, I am happy to support you throughout your creative journey and help you to make the most of your creative potential! You'll learn about the creative process with me, how to reflect on your own work, professional techniques to take your abilities to the next level, and lots more.
All ages and abilities are welcome, and all sessions will take place via Zoom video calls as frequently as you choose (most students opt to meet on a weekly basis). When you book a block of sessions, your first session is free! I look forward to meeting you soon.

About Lauren

Through Edinburgh College, I earned a distinction-grade diploma in art & design. I have appeared as a contestant on Sky Arts' Portrait Artist of the Year 2014 and have had a self-portrait oil painting exhibited in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition 2021, London. I also tutor 4-14-year-olds in English and maths through a renowned tutoring company, so have experience delivering fun and engaging sessions, explaining concepts and methods, and creating a relaxed learning environment. In addition, I hold a 1st-class bachelors and distinction-grade masters degree in English literature and creative writing, respectively, from the University of Stirling.
One of my Superprof students secured a place on the next level of their course under my tutelage. Another gained much-needed confidence to complete their final piece for a school portfolio. All parents praise my communication skills during my sessions with their children, my patience and my enthusiasm.

If I am informed of absence at least 24hrs in advance of a class, I am more than happy for it to be postponed or rescheduled.
If less than 24hrs notice is given, no reimbursement or rescheduling option is available.
In the event that you have booked a pack of sessions but find you will be unable to attend any in the future, the value of all remaining sessions will be reimbursed to you.
