In addition to being brilliant, he is willing and able to connect with students in a manner that allows him to provide an individualized method of teaching students. I had Mr. Thiessen for an IB Physics HL teacher and he did a wonderful job! He was very thorough when explaining the problems and would go through each step in the equations no matter how hard they were. All the while, this personally helped me learn strategies when approaching a physics problem or any math problem in general. I have had to please to have Mr.Thiessen as a high school IB Physics teacher. Before taking the class, I was extremely nervous about this course because my track record in science classes was not the best grade wise. Not only did Mr.Thiessen give help during school hours, he also took time out of his busy schedule to plan outside tutoring sessions were I was able to obtain extra help in the topics that I found extra challenging. As a tutor, he not only taught the content, he also built up my confidence in being able to do IB Physics which I found to be an impossible task before. Through his tutoring, I was able to get great remarks on my IB Physics exam as well as my Physics Regents Exam. Mr. Thiessen is a fantastic teacher. He was my physics teacher back in high school and also helped me with college physics years later. He has an innate ability to take advanced concepts and break them down into easy-to-understand steps. He is also extremely open and understanding, which creates an environment that lets you feel safe to ask for help and ask questions. As someone who have known Adam for over 10 years, I can confidently say he is and will be one of the most genuine, passionate and devoted educator you will meet, as well as an extraordinary person over all. My relationship with Adam started in high school when he was my physics teacher, whom I got to know closely during the duration of his classes that - still to this day - I consider a friend and mentor. His expertise in the overall STEM curriculum shows he is a complete master in those domains as he tutored me not only in Physics, but advanced mathematics as well; which demonstrates his ability to go well above and beyond his scope. Adam T was my teacher in high school for one year, but a mentor for all four years of my high school. Adam is an expert in the field of fundamental and kinetic physics, he understands the conceptual theory just as well as the practical math of it all, and this helps him translate the difficult concepts to students with ease and fluency. Outside of having a great understanding of the field he is teaching, Adam is amiable, polite, and patient, all without being laid back.

Adam has been the leading mentor of our school robotics team since its founding. He is not only our coach but our inspiration as he always instills hope during the various obstacles we face during the season. He made our team into a learning community and has been working tremendously to support us, his students, to achieve our goals as STEM enthusiasts and individuals. He takes time out of his personal life to help us learn and guide our robotic endeavors and makes sure the team has the opportunity to reach its maximum potential. His genuine passion for helping students, patience, and understanding set him apart from other mentors and teachers.

Mr. Thiessen was my IB Physics HL teacher, as well as the mentor to my FIRST Robotics Team. The sheer amount of knowledge relating to Mathematics and Physics floating around in his head is staggering. Even more so is his ability to recall and explain many of those concepts at will, while still communicating them effectively. This lends very well to his manner of teaching, as he will start with the basics and try to make sure you understand each step of the way as the material builds upon itself and gets more complex. He is very approachable, and for the curious mind, or even just for any simple questions, he will happily discuss or explain any tangentially related topics or concepts at any desired level of detail. I have known the man for many years, before and after having him as an instructor, and I can sincerely say he is the greatest mentor I have ever had, even when considering my college professors.
