About the lesson
First I interpret their needs, strengths, and weaknesses through very basic fundamentals of guitar/theory/singing quiz. From there I ask them what their goals are and what THEY believe their strengths and weaknesses are...tests often do not do justice to a large portion of students, I know this because I was once one of those students. I teach with empathy, compassion, and understanding. I am not stern. I do not lecture. I will never make you feel small or unimportant. Music with me is about a genuinely joyous experience and I don't think it should ever be any other way.

About Jacolyn
I have been giving lessons for about 10 years, and I have taught over two dozen students. My kid students have gone on to pursue music in their teenage years and often delve into performance, and I have been told by a couple that it was my drive that inspired them.
