About the lesson

I like to use the interests of my students to build my lesson plan! I find focusing on things I know my students already like helps them to better engage with the material. I tailor my lessons to the needs of the student. If the student needs help with school work, I spend time on the homework errors with the student and see what common mistakes are being made. If the goal is basic conversational French for an upcoming vacation, I make sure we practice plenty of conversations so they'll always knowhow to order a croissant or find les toilettes!

My lessons are highly personalized and I want to know my students goals and help them discover the best ways to get their based on their individual learning styles.

My lessons are best suited for beginner and intermediate level French speakers hoping to gain confidence in their language skills or bump up their French grade.

About V. Jane

Hello! Bonjour !

While I may be studying medicine currently, French has been my focus since I was 9 years old taking my first ballet lesson. Since then, I earned medals in the National French Contest 4 years in a row and earned a place in the French National Honors Society in high school, studied abroad in Angers and Tours for more than 15 months in total, completed my French major alongside my premedical studies at the University of Notre Dame and I've been continuing to hone my French skills with local conversation clubs and mobile apps.

My tutoring career began in high school and has continued to today, teaching mainly individual lessons so I can devote full attention to my student and their progress. I have taught students from the ages of 8-50+ and I particularly love helping my students feel confident enough to have conversations in French, which is where I struggled the most when I started learning.

I primarily use Google Slides/PowerPoint for a presentation styled learning, but I also incorporate games, videos and a more conversational approach based on the learning style preferred by my student.

I'm excited to meet my new students and I cannot wait to start speaking French with you!
