About the lesson

One of the most common complaints among today's students is that they cannot visualize how they would use mathematical concepts in the real world. I approach math in a very traditional way, in that I address concepts rather than problems and attempt to link them to real-world examples. I also push my students to look beyond the textbook and try to see why a certain formula works the way it does in the context of the situation, rather than simply giving it to them and having them apply it to a series of nearly identical questions. This helps to create a deeper fundamental understanding of the material as well as sharpen their critical thinking skills.

About Sai

I am a former undergraduate physics major and math minor currently pursuing a dual program through Rice University and Georgia Tech and in data science and analytics. I have nearly two decades of recreational, competitive, and advanced math under my belt. I started participating in math competitions at the age of 9 (AMC 8/12, MMPC, AIME, Gauss, etc.) and became proficient in multivariable calculus, linear algebra, fractals, and other advanced topics by my senior year of high school.
