About the lesson
My approach to tutoring involves asking you questions about what you understand in order to find out where the missing links and weaknesses exist in your holistic comprehension of a subject in order to fill in the blanks and give you a more robust and versatile grasp of what it is you want to or need to learn in order to get through your education.
My lessons are for any level from grade school all the way through college and my proficiencies encompass many areas. I incorporate academic skills and suggest organization/behavioral tools to help you get your work done more effectively so that you have more time for everything that you enjoy in life.

About Derek
I started tutoring students in high school through a school-sponsored peer-tutoring program and continued in college (UC Santa Barbara) when a classmate approached me, willing to pay for me to help me with his work.
I then expanded my clientele through other classes at my university and lived comfortably for a year after college doing nothing but tutoring. I then held a job as a tutor in the math lab at the local community college (SBCC) when I moved from there. Numerous clients from each of those environments have reached out to me throughout the years for assistance when they need it.
