About the lesson

I like to get to know my students at personal level and see if I can help them. My teaching methods are fun and focus on the students likes. I believe that one of the main points at the time of learning a language it´d be consistency and progress so thats what i like to work with my students.

About Jorgie

I´m a civil engineering taking my last semester. I always try to make my classes enjoyable for the students, I believe that one the ways to learn is by having interactive and nice comunication between the student and the tutor, that's why I like to do feedbacks and the end of the class and see if we made progress.

Perfect! We love Jorgie! He is an amazing tutor. 1) Mi idioma natal es el español, soy de Venezuela y por lo tanto mi lengua materna es el español. Por otra parte, aprendí inglés cuando tenía 19 años y gracias a mis profesores de entonces les agradezco desde siempre por haberme enseñado tanto.

2)De habla española tendría que mencionar a Daniel Habif, su manera de expresarse a través del idioma es increíble, tanto que puede calmar tus emociones con un simple escrito. Y hablante del inglés, considero que Jim Carrey representa sin duda una comunicación y un mensaje claro y preciso de lo que se quiere transmitir a través del idioma.

3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?
3)En español siempre uso la palabra "conchale" que dependiendo del contexto puede expresar admiración, preocupación, temor, molestia. Y mi frase favorita sería "el que madruga dios lo ayuda", algo así como que el que se levanta temprano empieza con el pie derecho o tiene alta probabilidad de tener un buen día. Y en el inglés, una de las frases que más uso es ''piece of cake'', con esto les recuerdo a mis estudiantes que aprender un idioma es muy sencillo, y que nunca se rindan .

4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?
4) El español es un lenguaje que se ha convertido en una herramienta muy útil debido al crecimiento de la población latina en otros países, y su aprendizaje es necesario para la buena comunicación en estos tiempos. Por otra parte, el inglés es el idioma universal que toda persona necesita aprender para tener la ventaja de comunicarse donde sea, hoy en día es indispensable en cualquier aspecto, tanto laboral, profesional y educativo.

5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
5)La mayor dificultad de aprender español sería la conjugación de los verbos dependiendo de los pronombres, una de las tareas más complicadas es memorizarlas cada una, pero una herramienta útil para facilitar este proceso sería hacerlo con calma y manteniendo la constancia en el objetivo ya que los idiomas son para aprenderlos a través de la vida y no de un solo instante. Y cuando se trata del inglés creo y he observado que el tiempo más difícil para los estudiantes es el pasado simple, a veces no saben identificar los verbos regulares con la pronunciación del final 'ed' y es una de los casos que más encuentros interesantes.

6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
6)Recuerdo que cuando estaba aprendiendo inglés las expresiones y palabras que más recuerdo fueron gracias a profesores que hablaban y ponían en contexto las palabras, lo cual fue una de las herramientas que me ayudó a agilizar mi aprendizaje y a recordar las palabras con mayor facilidad. Nunca olvidaré cuando escuche por primera vez 'space out' o la expresión 'out of the blue', desde entonces son frases que palabras que nunca olvide.

7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
7) La verdad es que no he viajado a un país de habla inglesa. Pero con respecto al español si he podido compartir y hacer la diferencia de expresiones con personas de Colombia, Chile, y Perú. Cada país tiene expresiones diferentes y eso me ayuda a crear la diferencia para los estudiantes y así adelantarles las posibles alternativas de vocabulario que pueden enfrentar si van a cierto país.

7) La verdad es que no he viajado a un país de habla inglesa. Pero con respecto al español si he podido compartir y hacer la diferencia de expresiones con personas de Colombia, Chile, y Perú. Cada país tiene expresiones diferentes y eso me ayuda a crear la diferencia para los estudiantes y así adelantarles las posibles alternativas de vocabulario que pueden enfrentar si van a cierto país.
