About the lesson

In the studio, students learn good techniques by first learning about kinesthetic development. Students learn bone and muscle terminology throughout activities such as stretching routines and technique exercises i.e. Plié, tendu, jeté, grand jeté, etc. Students also learn good techniques through the use of tactile corrections, this is so that students can sense and understand alignment and corrections so that they do not develop bad habits. Students strive to cultivate creativity in the studio by exploring their imagination. The curriculum design would be centered around creativity and having the students find what they gravitate to style-wise, theme-wise, etc. Helping students find their strengths cultivating those strengths while also working on the things they need to improve. This would be through improvisation classes for the older students and exploring different fun characters for the younger students. I believe it is essential to keep imagination alive for students of all ages because that is when the true magic happens within.

From elementary level to higher education; each student has the capacity to learn and have fun simultaneously. I strive to cultivate creativity because we are constantly on a journey to learn about ourselves. The best way to do so is to allow students to create freely, exploring their likes, and dislikes, all while ensuring that students have good technique, don’t develop bad habits, and are safe.

Perfect! Kayla was a delight for my young daughter. She really enjoyed her personality and encouragement, along with learning ballet form. It was the first time for both of us doing a Zoom lesson so there were some bumps (mostly on my end), but my daughter knew right away she would like to continue with Kayla.

Perfect! Kayla was a delight for my young daughter. She really enjoyed her personality and encouragement, along with learning ballet form. My 8 year old daughter expressed an interest in dance just before the Pandemic began. When the world shut down, it was really hard for us to bring her to understand why she needed to wait a while longer to start her dance journey. It was truly a blessing to find Kayla, and be presented with an online option. Kayla was professional, she drafted a contract and was very competitive with her pricing. She worked beautifully with our daughter, patiently teaching her the basics of ballet. She had no prior training or knowledge of terms for the positions and moves. Kayla was able to instruct her, virtually, making corrections and suggestions based on her observations of my daughters movements. It was amazing to watch her confidence and passion for dance flourish so quickly! My daughter met with Kayla every other week for several months, and all of the classes were recorded and forwarded to us by Kayla. This allowed our daughter the opportunity to practice the skills and techniques covered during class, until the next lesson. I strongly recommend Kayla as a trustworthy, capable and amazing Dance Instructor! Her love for dance shines through her instruction and she has really ignited the dancer in my daughter!
