Bonjour! French for beginners and all the way through university and AP

About the lesson

While teaching in the University of California system I was trained in the communicative method, which emphasizes learning through context and conversation. It is highly effective and facilitates both linguistic and cultural fluency, which makes the language really come alive. Some of my students have gone on to study and/or work in France, Canada, and Senegal, and a number of them have gone on to grad schools like Cambridge and Sciences-Po. I also currently teach a class at a brain injury recovery center and am a volunteer at Translators Without Borders.

About Tegan

I’m a translator who has taught language (French but also English and German, too) for more than 10 years. I have a PhD in Literature/French and lived in France for 3 years. I love both teaching and learning languages and pack my lessons with songs, current events, and cultural perspectives from the French-speaking world.
