About the lesson

I enjoy using creative methods to teach - games, object lessons, flashcards, and even using silly situations to practice writing prompts. I understand that each student learns and thinks differently, so I like to ask each student how they best learn (kinesthetic, auditory, or visual), and then adjust to use tools that help them best. Additionally, it is always helpful to use a lot of repetition when learning a new language, no matter how a student learns.

About Crista

I am a Youth and Family Studies graduate ('18) from Nyack College, and I have worked with children in different settings for about 10 years. I have lived in Spain for 1.5 years as well as the Dominican Republic. While in the Dominican Republic, I was working as an Associate Teacher for a 4th grade classroom and a 1st grade ESL classroom, both of which were at a school for Dominican children being immersed in the English language. I have also assisted adults with their English, and enjoy working with people of all ages.

I currently have moved back to the Dominican Republic, where I work as a teacher for high school students. I teach them in English, but am also responsible for teaching their Spanish language class as well.

I have completed a program that will certify me in teaching English as a Second Language, and I have completed my student teaching at an international school here in the Dominican Republic. I am bilingual in Spanish and English, and would LOVE to help you progress in your language and communication skills in either language!
