Super Prof
Jaime is one of our best tutors Violin. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!
About the lesson
First of all, I love teaching. This is the basis of my teaching. Beyond that I help the student to play with correct technique from the beginning to allow the student to reach their full potential. I am very detail oriented and go over technique with clear explanations and examples.
What we work on repertoire wise depends on the students abilities and desires. If the student is just starting out then we develop technique through exercises and simple songs. Once the student is more comfortable with the violin, I can go in any direction that they wish. Some students want to learn strictly classical repertoire, while others may want to mix it up with fiddle tunes or songs they love. I am very open. It is important to me that my students are fulfilled artistically and have fun.

About Jaime
I have always had a passion for music and I have been lucky enough to have traveled the world playing my violin.
During my career, I never stopped teaching. I have been taught by the best and I believe that I am qualified to teach what I have learned to others.
I have taught students from ages 5-88, no kidding. And from many different countries as well. If you are looking for a methodical classical violin teacher, I've got you covered. If you want something more free and exploratory, I am also on board!

Jaime is a fantstic Greek tutor. She really helped my vocabulary and confidence, and I really enjoyed her teaching style.
Jaime Smith is a fabulous Greek Language Instructor!
I am a parent of an exuberant 3rd grade child that has had the privilege of being taught Greek as a foreign language by Jaime. My husband is of Greek heritage, but until we enrolled her in classes with Jaime, we struggled to get our child interested in learning her dad’s first language. With only one class a week, both in-classroom early on, and online more recently, my daughter has increased her proficiency greatly. More importantly she’s become very excited to learn and practice the language.
Jaime is very attentive to her student's needs and manages to make a difficult subject fun and interactive, even in the remote-learning environment. When classes were in- person, she managed a full classroom of K-1 students and kept them engaged and learning for 2 hours at a time. Jaime’s love for the kids is palpable, and her ability to impart information in a manner that their developing minds can easily grasp is a talent indeed.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Jaime for any teaching position, as I believe she brings passion and joy to everything she does.Jaime was my violin teacher for so many years...I met her as a child and we had courses until after I was an adult, and a teacher myself. She is the greatest violin teacher I could ever ask for! Extremely talented, patient, kind has everything needed and much more to guide you throughout your music trip! I am so glad I had her as my teacher and I would have recommended her without second thought! She made my love for violin an unbreakable bond. Jaime, thank you for everything you taught me!
I took violin lessons with Jaime for a little over three years. She was incredibly encouraging, supportive, and funny, while simultaneously pushing me to improve. With her wide array of hilarious musical analogies and remarkable talent, Jaime was able to explain complicated techniques in a way that was easy to understand and apply. This makes her an excellent teacher for beginners and advanced violinists. Our lessons were often a highlight of my week!
I've been taking violin lessons with Jaime for a little over two years. I was nervous about being an adult student, but Jaime has been incredible at patiently instructing me without making me feel like a child or "behind." I've had the pleasure of watching her perform, and have heard other students play as well, so I can say with confidence that she is knowledgeable and skilled not only as a violinist, but also as a teacher. Since we switched to an online format, I was worried I'd struggle more, but the transition was quite natural. She is able identify mistakes or areas that require improvement and can tell me, with just her words, how to fix/adjust. Though I'm actively being guided through a lesson plan, I still feel like Jaime respects my capabilities/needs and allows me to go at a comfortable pace. I really can't recommend her enough. She's a phenomenal teacher.
Jaime is an excellent teacher. I've had her for many years and she is very kind, as well as being very flexible and able to help you improve with constructive advice. I would recommend her to anyone.
Best violin teacher… ever! I had let my fiddle languish in its case for a few months, and was pretty rusty when we met. But after only a couple months, not only have I been able to regain my skill and confidence, she’s brought my playing to a whole new level.
