My lesson plans are heavily based on three principles: (1) Constant engagement and interaction with the student as opposed to a more lecture-based style, (2) Strengthening basic scientific principles that underlie more complex processes to better comprehend them, and (3) Relating these scientific principles to the real-world and/or the student's prospective field of study.

About Jonathan

I started tutoring my sophomore year at Grand Valley State University and quickly realized it to be a passion of mine. The mutual benefits received by student and tutor, the prospect of sparking passions, and my innate interest in the scientific method are the driving forces behind my motivation to learn, comprehend, and teach the natural sciences at the collegiate level.

While most experienced in microbiology, human A&P, and organic chemistry, I also offer instruction in courses such as general/inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, pathology, histology, and nutrition.
