About the lesson

I always tailor my teaching & plans to the student(s) in question; even in group settings, I am adept at observing individual nuances & proceeding accordingly within the exercises. Prior to singular or multiple sessions I ascertain what the goals of the pupil(s) is/are & insure I comprehend the concepts from their perspective(s). I proceed to select & plan topics in a particular order conducive to scaffolding skills through exercises & explanation. I am experienced at applying various befitting techniques to convey the desired & necessary knowledge; i.e. there isn’t a ‘One-Size-Fits-All’ curriculum. Most importantly, I use passion & humor to engage & inspire my students. It’s vital to nurture a sense of play & imagination in a safe exploratory environment in order to properly learn this craft & apply it.

About Robin

I am a teacher & performer who has worked with children & young adults of all ages. I have a BA in English with a focus on Creative Writing, & have training in multiple performing arts disciplines. I studied at renowned institutions such as DePaul University Theatre School & Second City Training Center & Conservatory; I have been acting since I was school aged. Writing for stage & screen is in my wheelhouse as well, as I have directed & worked on multiple independent film projects. I love helping young people harness their creative energy & passion, & focus/fine tune their abilities in a manner that suits their individual goals. I’m a major proponent in self discovery & growth. I believe that youths may be the most authentic artists of all life stages, & I thrive on their successes.
