About the lesson
I always begin by asking to see a student's most recent work and question them about their interests. I do this to ascertain where they are at and what their tentative, or in some cases more concrete, goals are. Developing as an artist is a very personal thing, while I can teach students the skills they need to know, I want to tailor my teaching to their personal approach to artmaking. I help the student develop their aspirations and then tailor my lesson plans to lead them and support them on the way to their goals. I never teach art fundamentals in a vacuum, I assess where students can improve and point them in the directions that they can take to improve their art. Once I know what skills they want and need to improve I construct lessons and assignments designed to encourage those developments.

About Jillian
I am an art education student at the University of North Texas! I have experience in building portfolios and specialize in drawing media but am experienced in watercolors as well. I am also experienced in animation and graphic design and other digital media. I can help your student develop their portfolio for college applications, AP tests, or simply help them improve their skills as an artist.

Jillian simply embodies diligence. Her communication skills are excellent and her maturity ensures a productive working environment for her and her clients. The demeanor she displays is also very approachable, kind, and down to earth. I would gladly have her tutor me or my child any day.
Jillian was my tutor for Geology and English for half a year and I was thoroughly impressed! She is extremely well versed in many subjects and makes learning easy and engaging. I personally was struggling to pass these classes however, after being tutored by Jill, I was able to get A's in both courses!
