Hi Everyone,
Welcome! I am the teacher you've been searching for! I customize my teaching to best fit you or your child's unique learning style and abilities. I am not a college student or amateur teaching with no training or ability. I am a professional teacher; you or your child will really learn piano with me
-I have over 25 years experience teaching at both the college and private studio level
-I customize my teaching to best fit the music you love and the way you learn
-I teach all levels (Beginning through Advanced) and work closely with you to set the best lesson plan for your studies
-Using music you love, we will discover the joys of playing
-We learn music, theory, and technique but I work closely with you to find the best plan to fit your busy life
-I am incredibly patient, supportive, and kind so you will feel supported and encouraged in a very positive learning environment with me.
-I am experienced with RCM performance exams (my students earn high marks and competition prep
-We have 2-3 annual studio recitals (currently holding in my backyard)

I started playing when I was 9 and by 15, was performing and teaching. I have always loved music. I earned my BA in my early twenties at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and also studied at Pacific College of Music.
I have performed on and off for much of my life in rock bands, concert halls, and at recitals for my teaching business. I am also a composer and am currently collaborating with musicians across the country on a rock album with a well-known Danish producer. I also am working on solo piano instrumental music.
I have a vast knowledge of many genres of music and will introduce you to beloved classical, film score music, New Age, 80ties synthesizer heavy music, EDM artists such as Alan Walker and Aviici, and many other amazing styles.
Music is my life and my passion and I will work 200% on helping you discover and enjoy playing piano.
I am a professional teacher with a degree, extensive years of training in classical music, expert playing ability, and expert teaching.

My two boys (9 and 5) have been having piano lessons with Ms. Toby since last year. Ms. Toby is an accomplished pianist and composer. My sons enjoy her friendly, encouraging and professional teaching approach very much and they enjoy practicing at home. Since Ms. Toby treats each student uniquely, her customized lessons benefits my sons a lot. She helps my sons choose the songs they like and so they are motivated to play. My older son is inspired by Ms. Toby's songs, and he plays his own arrangement on Canon which is very impressive. My younger son has very good progress since his very first piano class with Ms. Toby.
