About the lesson

I use the methods and skills I have learnt thanks to CELTA and TESOL certificates as well as IHCYLT. The methods and techniques such as asking the student special guide-like questions are highly effective as they let me use English during the lesson to a minimum and not making my lesson look like a lecture. Those questions allow my students to speak for the most part of the lesson, which means they practice it and I'm like the mediator between them and the material. During my lessons with my students I always stick to 80 (practicing)/20(learning) rule. 80% of the lesson I let my students practice as much as possible the language via dialogues, language games, critical thinking games and role-plays.
My lessons are always, fun, engaging, conversation-based and planned according to my students' goals. Every lesson starts with a fun and engaging warm-up, where students are to recall the prior knowledge of the previous lesson, this allows my students to practice the learnt material and build their confidence for the future lessons. Further at the lesson, depending on the student's level, we study the material via reading an article, watching an educational video, listening to a song or an audio, based on the topic of our lesson. All the materials are thoroughly planned out to let my students achieve their language goals: such as speaking fluency, elaborate writing, wider vocabulary, correct usage of grammar and pronunciation.
I teach ESL from Beginner level to Proficient to kids from 6 and up. (Elementary school - High-school). I also teach general, conversational, English for tourism and Business English to adults. I teach conversational English to teenagers from 12 and up. I also prepare for exams: such as TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, YLE, FCE.
Thanks to my lessons students are able to communicate freely with their foreign business partners, kids are able to get ahead at school, achieve their goals, get fluent, pass the international exams and study in an English or French speaking countries, adults are able to read fiction and watch their favorite shows without subtitles and dictionaries.
My classroom is a comfortable place where students are encouraged to feel free share their ideas and thoughts in English and so make mistakes. I also try to allow my students to be teachers sometimes, because it makes them more motivated and inspired to learn the language and to explore the world of learning and achieve their goals in life.

About Sofiia

I taught English and French in Specialized School #75 in Ukraine after graduation from V.N National Karazin University. I took Spanish as my third language in the University. I also tutored English to elementary, middle and high school students. I've been tutoring English and French for 5 years. I'm an online teacher at Skyeng school in Russia since 2017. I am also currently a Part-Time French tutor working online via Skype. I love my profession. I got my TESOL certificate from Arizona State University in 2018, CELTA certificate in New York in 2019 and IH (International House) certificate also in 2019 for teaching young learners and teenagers.
In my free time from work I like traveling, riding a bike, reading French literature. My main hobby is my work with international students, elementary, middle/high school students.
