About the lesson
The class will be structured based on the individuals current swimming ability and goals.
There will be repetition of skills in order to become proficient.
We will use toys for children to encourage trying new things.
Adults will at times use other equipment to aid instruction such as a kick board.

About Kathleen
I started swimming competitively at the age of 5 and then became a swim instructor post high-school. As an adult I competed in Masters Swimming.
- Can teach a young child beginning swimming and to become acclimated to the water. For a young non swimmer the focus is on having fun while learning the skills needed to become water safe
- Can teach older children and adults the basics of swimming
-Can help an adult add swimming to their fitness routine; and develop a variety of workouts
-Will emphasize water safety
-My goal is to help anyone enjoy the water!

Perfect! Kathleen is excellent with kids; she manages to both get my 6-year old daughter to navigate in the water while doing so in a fun way. My daughter thinks she’s having fun during swim lessons though she’s really learning techniques to get comfortable in the water.
After finding the swim instruction centers not great due to frequent teacher turnover/changes and also COVID-impacted enterprises, I am thankful that I was able to find this teacher.
Swim lessons are at the Walnut Creek Bay Club. Outdoor pool, clean & relaxed ambience, even has free sunscreen lotion for its members. The Club does have its own membership fees, so the whole family decided to use its amenities/gym during swim lesson time LOL.Susan

Details
These are private level lesson prices per hour. However a good lesson length varies by the new swimmer and typically is 30 minutes or less. We can go longer, but it depends on the ability of the swimmer. So the 1/2 hour rate for one on one instruction is $30
